Without Rachel, we wouldn’t have made it through Whole 30. I’m not going to lie, it was a challenging month, but Rachel was there with us every step of the way. We recapped our week and would strategize for the future during our weekly video-check in. On multiple occasions we were utterly confused at an ingredients list (what the hell is monk fruit extract?), but we were able to send a picture of it to her and usually learn that monk fruit extract is a sneaky way companies insert sugar without us knowing. We also loved the daily messages from Rachel letting us know what we could expect to feel as the Whole30 process plays out, and as our bodies adjust.

Most importantly, Whole30 gave me the tools to take back control over my life. Not all foods are friendly to me and now I know exactly what triggers my symptoms.

I read about the Whole30 diet and was resistant to jump in and let go of all my favorite foods.

I decided I want a coach who is knowledgeable and can walk me through the 30-days challenge and came across Rachel Lucas through the Whole30 coaches directory. I emailed a few coaches and got replies back but Rachel stood out.

Within her first reply to my email I found her to be just what I need: her communication was prompt, she gave me the full picture of what it’s like to work with her, what to expect, cost, etc. Her offer was a no brainer for me and I knew she was the one.

During the month every time I had a question about a product I could just text her and she was always prompt and helpful in guiding me whether it’s Whole30 approved or not. I took a short vacation and she supported me before and after. I felt very cared for, and that I can do it because I got the most amazing cheerleader and wise coach in my pocket. If you are thinking of trying Whole30 for the first time or jumping back on it, you’re gonna want to take Rachel Lucas as your coach. Best investment I made ever.

After completing the September Whole30, I feel great, and that is because of the help of my Coach Rachel. Every morning I would get a message from Rachel with what to expect for the day, and a daily reminder that I was doing great. If I had any questions Rachel was a message away, and responded quickly. My video check-ins with Rachel were great, where I could ask questions, bring up any concerns I had about the upcoming days, and learn what to expect. At the end of September 2020 I successfully completed my third Whole30. However, this third time I had a qualified Whole30 coach, Rachel Lucas, and that made all the difference. I have always tried to eat healthy, exercise and take care of my body, especially as I age. I am an emotional eater, however, and during the past year my public health work and the global pandemic created a great deal of stress in my life and I let my healthier eating habits slip.

Given how hard I felt it was going to be to start a Whole30 on my own, I called in the big guns and asked Rachel to be my coach. She taught me more than I could have imagined about many things such as: remembering to be non-judgemental towards myself, to appreciate each and every day that I treated myself well by staying with the Whole30 eating plan, to remember that this is not a quick fix but requires one to take the long view - that changing eating habits takes time and requires a mindful loving attitude towards oneself.
