A Few of my Favorite Things (Whole30 Edition)

Are you gearing up for a Whole30? Here are the top 5 products I can’t live without during my Whole30’s.

Primal Kitchen avocado oil mayo. I always have a jar of this ready to bail me out of a meal emergency. I love making my own mayo. If you’ve never made your own you should really try it out; it’s easy, less expensive and delicious. But, I don’t always have the time or energy to make my own, this is the perfect back up. A jar of this mayo will turn your canned tuna or chicken into a salad, or you can add a bit to a vinegar based dressing to make it creamy!

Collagen peptides. There are so many brands out there, my favorite brand has always been Vital Proteins. Why do I love this? First of all, bonus protein! Most brands get you about 20 grams of protein per servings. Protein is crucial in keeping us full. It is easy to add into your diet, collagen will mix into any hot beverage and most cold (with a little encouragement) and doesn’t have much of a flavor on its own, although I would not suggest mixing it in plain water. Collagen is something our bodies produce, but start producing less of as we age. Supplementing with collagen can also help with skin elasticity, nail density, hair growth, joint lubrication and muscle recovery.

Chomps meat sticks. These sticks are the perfect ‘bag’ food. Toss a few of them in your gym bag, backpack, purse and you’ll never be stuck without something to eat. Chomps are shelf stable so you can carry them around in your bag for a while. They are filled with protein and fat so they’ll also keep you full until you can get to your next meal time.

Tessamae’s creamy ranch dressing. Stock up on this one! Thrive market now carries a pantry version of this dressing. It is my absolute favorite ranch out there and it is Whole30 compatible, not that you’d ever guess from the taste. Pro tip, when you make your tuna salad hold back a little on the mayo and add a splash of ranch before you mix!

These first four products can all be found on Thrive Market. Thrive Market is something else I cannot live without, especially when doing Whole30. You can search their website by specialty diet and filter to only see Whole30 products. Plus the shipping is so fast! You can use the link here to sign up for a Thrive account.

True Primal’s soup packs. Because who doesn’t need an emergency meal that only takes 60 seconds of prep time? True Primal has several varieties of soups like tuscan chicken, beef chili, and chicken and vegetable. These soups come loaded with protein, most containing over 25 grams per serving. They taste amazing and will leave you full until your next meal time. You can use the link here to let them know I sent you and use code FUELINGSTRONG to save on your order.

This list is not exhaustive on the items I need to survive a Whole30, but these are certainly the top of the pack. If you need more tips and guidance on your Whole30, sign up for coaching now.
